I "THINK" the 'white spots' are leaf chambers created by Ricanid bug [Auchenorrhyncha: Ricaniidae] for laying eggs. One egg per one 'white spot'. The 'chambler' (=white spot) is created by the insect by making a simple half circle cut on the leaf surface. The plant tissue on the cut side then dry up and tissue on the intact side contracts pulling the cut up cutcle upward whereby creating a sofa-shape chamber (i.e. the brighter white spot). The lighter colour white spot are fresh cut on leaf and they'll eventually all turn into sofa-shampe chamber.
Could someone ID this plant for me?
