Prof. Richard Corlett is looking for some insect photos for his book on The Ecology of Tropical East Asia (2nd edition). He is now working in the Center for Integrative Conservation, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He had been teaching Botany in HKU for many years and contributed a lot to our knowledge on HK plants.
I have provided some, but the following I don't have:
Apis cerana on flower
Apis dorsata nest or nests in tree
Stingless bee nest (but I realize there are none in HK!)
Xylocopa bee ‘buzzing’ Melastoma or similar flower.
Fig wasps entering or emerging from fig.
Colocasiomyia on Alocasia odora inflorescence
Epicephala moth on Glochidion flower.
Termites: e.g. fungus-growing termites on fungus comb?
Anyone able to provide please contact me.
Thanks!
