The medial band seems very broad for stuposa.  How big was the moth, please? Did you see the hindwing? If so, was there a yellow band?

I suspect this is Bastilla fulvotaenia.

Roger, I defer to you! However if I look at Moths of Thailand the shape of the forewing markings doesn't fit fulvotaenia. However MoT is not the most reliable guide (vol 3 Plate 20) and has stuposa as Parallelia!! I took Dysgonia from the "official list" on hkls.org! I am - as always - baffled.

The moth was about 3cm across wings. I idid not see the hindwing. I found another one at the same spot today wqith damaged wings.

At 3cm across it's a good size for stuposa. Seeing the second picture helps, as it clearly shows the outer edge of the medial band is diffuse. The post medial fascia has two outward kinks on it. These are all in line with features for D. stuposa.

R.E. Moths of Thailand, yes there are a few inaccuracies. The genera Parallelia and Dysgonia have been thoroughly revised of late (Millar & Holloway, 2005; Holloway, 2005), with Parallelia confined to the Americas and Dysgonia reverting to a number of allied genera (Bastilla, Macaldenia, etc..), though stuposa remains in Dysgonia.
