As noted, the larvae was first observed on 07 Oct at Aberdeen Country Park. As can be seen from the earlier post, the larvae were already quite large (~ 3-4 cm). After several weeks of additional feeding and growing, the larger caterpillar finally pupated on 2 Nov 2012 and eclosed on 13 Nov 2012. One of the smaller larvae (shown below) developed a different marking and coloring (dark brown), but finally died due to lack of food, also on 13 Nov. The LFP was finally determined to be
Glochidion zeylanicum, (thanks to 特別懶散 and Windy Fung for help in locating some plants!). The larva that finally pupated reached about 6 cm length, while the second larva only got to be about 5 cm. The resting wingspan is 3 cm, while the spread ws is 4 cm; body length 2.5 cm.
