Having taken a closer look at these two observations it is evident they represent the first and second documented records of Episteme nipalensis for Hong Kong.
Points to note that help i.d. this species in comparison with E. lectirx are as follows:
(1) the proportionately narrower forewing;
(2) the black patagia with a small yellow blotch at the head end (rather than all yellow)
(3) the continual series of subterminal blueish white dots on the forewing (rather than 3 apical dots plus some tornal dots)
(4) the yellow rather than orange abdominal banding
MaoMorning, please could you p.m. the location details of your observation? I assume your observation was 2007-05-30; please confirm.
