Leaves all submerged and root-like, alternate on stolons, 0.5–1.5 cm long, unbranched or dichotomously divided into a few capillary segments. Traps lateral on leaf segments, ovoid, 1–2.5 mm, stalked. Scapes slender, 5–10 cm, bearing a raceme of 1–2(– 3) flowers; scales 1, similar to the bracts; bracts basifixed. Pedicels erect or spreading, 2–12 mm. Calyx bilobed nearly to the base; lobes broadly ovate to suborbicular, subequal, 1.5–2 mm. Corolla yellow, 4–8 mm long, upper lip orbicular or broadly ovate, about twice the length of upper calyx-lobe, apex obscurely 3-lobed, lower lip slightly smaller; the spur conical, as long as the lower corolla-lip, or slightly longer. Ovary ovoid; style distinct. Capsule globose, 2–3 mm in diam., opening by valves.

Pedicels erect and slender at flowering time, turned downward at fruiting time. Calyx deeply bilobed; lobes ovate, unequal, enlarged and spreading in fruit. Corolla yellow, 10–15 mm, upper lip broadly ovate, apex rounded, about twice the length of upper calyx-lobe, lower lip larger, transversely elliptic; the spur obtuse, about the length of lower corolla-lip. Ovary ovoid; style distinct. Capsule globose, 4–5 mm in diam., circumscissile; persistent style about twice as long as the capsule.
