thanks....may be I am too pessimistic, thought they were hunt to extinction like other valuable groupers

Not all groupers are hunted to (the edge of) extinction, the flesh of some local small groupers (like E. quoyanus / E. merra) are not good in taste and therefore they are still relatively common in HK waters, but it's true that their abundances has been decreasing
