Noctuidae?
The eyes-like spot on its wings give me a sense of familiarity (genus Erebus in Noctuidae)作者:

not many records of this species in Hong Kong - not one which is attracted to light traps, but can be seen at rotting fruit and tree sap runs.
The photo looks as though it's of a female (with the white marks near the forewing apex). Males have slightly reduced hindwings and no white markings... (note the blue edging is a result of refraction of light from the camera flash by the wing scales)作者:
