With ref to http://www.hkwildlife.net/viewthread.php?tid=30377 I'm wondering if the larva Gargetta-divisa4.jpg (#4b-bottom)

and #7b

would/could be classed as semi-loopers?  (Roger?)

That's a totally artificial vernacular nomenclature, David...
They look like Notodontid larvae

Well, that is what they are of course.  But the nomenclature of semi-looper (I thought) was a larva that had only 2 or 3 pairs of prolegs.  Only one pair is a Geometrid (or "full looper"), 4 pairs could be most anything else.  Also, "semi-looper" because of the walking motion similar to a "full looper" but with more pairs than a Geometrid but fewer pairs The two notodontid larvae above do walk in similar fashion to those Noctuid larvae that also have only 2 or 3 pairs of prolegs.
If the nomenclature vernacular is as above described, does it matter if it is artificial, though helpful as a category?
