This is the somewhat similar Pingasa rubicunda. There are three main features on the dorsal wing surface that assist with this determination:

1. The postmedial fascia is much smoother in overall appearance than in P. ruginaria;
2. The medial bar in the f/w discal cell is close to being equidistant between the sub and post medial fasciae (as it is also in P. rubimontana), not like P. ruginaria or P. chloroides, where the bar is closer to the submedial fascia;
3. The postmedial fascia has little outward jags where it crosses each vein, unlike P. rubimontana, where the fascia loops between each vein.

There are other features on the ventral surface, but I'll not go into this here, as a visual explanation would be simpler to see.

In P. rubicunda, the f/w medial fascia appears as a smooth curve, rather than "stepped" (like a curve with a bulge in it).

Also, where this fascia has veins crossing it, the indentations are angled rather than curved, as in P. rubimontata and P. chloroides; the indentations in P. ruginaria are more like a darkening along the vein only, so the fascia doesn't appear indented at each vein (see attached schematic illustration)
